Methodology
Citrus are traded in boxes of 40.8 kilos (on tree), except for tangerine (ponkan) and tahiti lime, which are traded in boxes of 22 to 27 kg (harvested). Trades are payable in the short term, discounting the NPR tax.
Regions included in the sample (São Paulo State): Bebedouro, Araraquara, Limeira and Mogiana.
For citrus delivered in citrus plant, prices are collected in Catanduva (Catanduva, Uchoa e Olímpia), Bebedouro (Bebedouro e Colina), Matão (Matão, Taquaritinga, Itápolis e Araraquara) and Limeira (Araras, Artur Nogueira e Limeira), in São Paulo State, as well.
After collected, prices are submitted to statistical treatment to calculate the arithmetic average of each region. Prices in US dollars are calculated by using the commercial exchange rate, collected every day at 4:30 pm (Brasilia time).
