In October 2004, Cepea organized the I Workshop about Technical and Sanitary Barriers to Trade. Preliminary results of this event concluded that the great importance assumed by rules, regulations and certification programs has been changing the exigencies faced by exporters. Nowadays, to attend to the port regulations, the exporter must be informed about the new technical and sanitary regulations that come up in the international market.
Cepea provide studies, economic researches applied on the effects of the sanitary and phytosanitary measures on the international trade. The main goal is to guide farmers and exporters in strategic decisions in the international trade. For that, it is very important to follow and identify information about the dynamic in the sanitary and phytosanitary measures to agricultural products and food.
