Domestic market more attractive than exports

Brazilian sugar prices keep moving down, pressured by the larger available supply. Even so, the domestic market has been remunerating more than exports. Price parity calculated by Cepea showed that the Brazilian market (Sao Paulo State) remunerated around 7 percent more than the exports in the first weeks of August.

Domestic prices (Sao Paulo State) for crystal sugar has been settled around 21.77 dollars per bag of 50 kilos, down 3.5 percent in the first 11 days of August. In July, prices averaged 22.94 dollars per bag, up 3.6 percent in relation to June.
