Brazilian corn prices moved down from July to August in winter corn crop areas. In Cascavel, Paraná state, a important producing area, the decrease was of 2.14 percent for prices received by growers. In trades between companies, prices downed 0.26 percent.
In other areas, the prices' behavior was the opposite. In the region of Triângulo Mineiro, also producing area, in Minas Gerais state, prices moved up 1 percent from July. In trades between companies, the increase was of 4 percent.
In the accumulated of August, the ESALQ/BM&F Index (Campinas city, SP, area of consumption) for corn increased 8 percent, to 8.00 dollars per bag of 60 kilos, in average.
