Brazil exported a record volume of 4.37 million tones in July, according to Secex (Foreign Trade Secretariat - government). It was the largest volume exported in one month. From February to July, shipments totalized 16.14 million tones, 24.4 percent more than the volume registered in the same period in 2005.
In the beginning of August, the international soybean market is focused on the weather conditions in US. The Cepea/Esalq Index for soybean (Paraná state) averaged 12.64 dollars per bag of 60 kilos in August, down 0.32 percent in this month.
In other news, the National Company for Food Supply (Conab) forecasted the Brazilian soybean production (2005/06) at 53.43 million tones. The harvest schedule is advanced comparing to 5 years ago.
