Spot prices devaluate more than 10 percent in March

Citrus process activities of the 2006/07 crop are concluded since the middle of March. Only one plant is still processing, but the fruits are not with good quality yet. Harvest activities of early varieties and tangerines should be intensified from April on.

Because of this, Brazilian orange prices (spot market) decreased in March, after reach record levels during four months. In average (until Mar 29), orange values were at 13.87 reals or 6.64 dollars per box of 40.8 kilos, down 10.5 over February's one.
