Stable prices in Brazil

Brazilian sugar prices kept almost unchanged in the first fortnight of August, even with the decrease of international values. The CEPEA/ESALQ Index (Sao Paulo state) averaged 25.17 reals or 12.39 dollars per bag of 50 kilos on August 15th, unchanged over July 31st.

In this context, sugar domestic trades returned to remunerate more than exports - from Aug 6 to Aug 10, the advantage was of 2 percent, according to Cepea. In relation to the ethanol, sugar remunerated 12 percent more than anhydrous and 20 percent more than the hydrated in the same period.
