|Weighting:||The weight of each region in the composition of the state Index is based on the herd in the cities that are part of the sample in the day. As a result, the weighting may change on a daily basis, depending on the information of the sample. Data about the herd come from the Municipal Livestock Research (Pesquisa Pecuária Municipal) from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE);|

|Agents surveyed for the research:||
slaughterhouses, swine growers, cooperatives and stockbrokers;
From August 1 2019, the CEPEA/ESALQ Indexes for live pig will be based on the prices received by independent pig growers. Thus, in Santa Catarina, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul, the quotes received by integrated farmers will no longer be included in the Index calculations. Besides, term prices will be changed into cash prices based on the CDI rate (until late July 2019, the discount rate used will be the NPR). Concerning the Indexes weight, in the methodology to be adopted from August 1 2019, each region’s weight in the calculation of the states averages will be variable, according to the pig herd of the sample cities on each day (until late July 2019, the weight is fixed and based on the herd of all the cities that form each one of the regions). It is important to mention that the information on the pig herd of each city are from IBGE’s Livestock Research.
|Other surveys:||Cepea also surveys prices of common and special pork carcasses, piglets and pork cuts.|
